Here at Project Wedding, we’re big fans of any fashion-y spin on traditional bridal style. While peplums will always be a flirty addition to any silhouette, we appreciate that designers went slightly more avant-garde with the look this season. Instead of a small, even ruffle all the way around the waist, the new take for Spring 2014 is larger, asymmetrical, and architectural.  We love the look, but what you do think? Would you wear it, or are you sticking with the standard style
Can’t get enough Bridal Market coverage? Find even more details we’re loving in our highlight recaps here and here, or see complete collections from Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa, Reem Acra, and more on our Fashion page. Another trend to watch: Illusion Necklines.
Whew! We’re finally back from Spring 2014 Bridal Market, and a what a whirlwind it was! If you didn’t catch our live-at-the-runway coverage on Twitter or Instagram, don’t worry—we’ll be recapping all the great trends and amazing details right here on the blog. We’ll also be posting highlight reels and complete collections daily in our Fashion Ideas section, so be sure to stop by there as well. Up first: illusion necklines. Designers kept things sheer yet covered up on top by overlaying mesh with beautiful bead work and flower embroidery. This look is great for the bride who loves interesting details and isn’t afraid to get a little flirty with her gown.
